Apgood is active in a number of public relations associations, including Washington Women in Public Relations (WWPR) and the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) in Washington, D.C. and Maryland. In 2010, she is co-chair of the PRSA-NCC Thoth Judging & Gala Committees, and in 2007 and 2008, she chaired the PRSA-NCC Technology Taskforce. She was a board member for WWPR from 1998 to 2003. And, she was on the board for the National Association of Women Business Owners in 2008 and 2009. Susan is a founding member of the Boss Ladies networking group.
Apgood is frequently quoted in PR trade publications for her expertise in radio. She also is a frequent guest speaker for both undergraduate and graduate level classes at George Washington University and American University.
Apgood has an MBA with a concentration in finance from American University and a BA in economics with a minor in political science from George Washington University. She lives in Bethesda with her husband and three sons.
