Creative Casino Night Makes Thoth Fabulous!

Wow! That was some party!

I want the team who put together the casino-themed extravaganza for this year's PRSA-NCC Thoth Awards to put together my next party. And talk about raising the bar -- I feel for next year's Thoth Committee, who will have a very tough time matching, let alone topping, this year's awards night.

The venue was an inspired choice. The elegant Old World feel of the Paris Ballroom at the Hotel Monaco made the "casino" feel more like Monte Carlo than Vegas. From the moment you arrived and received tickets for champagne and a drink from the cash bar, along with casino play to get you started you could see it was going to be a festive night. Waiters circulated with champagne flutes and wonderful hors d'oeurves, croupiers kept the games going with a professional air at the tables, and the crowd mingled with friends and colleagues, many of whom were there because they or their company was a winner in one of the Thoth categories.

But even those of us without entries had a blast. PRSA continues to treat sponsors like gold, and many of the people I chatted with thanked me for PRofessional Solutions' sponsorship, having read our name in the beautifully printed program.

And after the awards were presented and dessert enjoyed (yummy little pastries, healthy fruit, fancy tarts) your casino play money was converted to raffle tickets, with some truly wonderful raffle prizes (iPod Nano, iPod Shuffle, and gift certificate for spa treatments at Elizabeth Arden, among others).

I didn't see a single disappointed person, whether a winner or not, as we were handed our tote bags full of swag on the way out.
